Sam and Lauren's fall fairytale wedding took place at Creekside Lodge in Houston, Alaska just outside of Wasilla. When my assistant and I arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Lauren's mom and sister. They gave us a tour of the rustic Alaskan venue and we immediately felt at home.
Lauren coordinated her big day, and she seriously thought of everything. The entire lodge was decorated beautifully, from the stunningly furnished cocktail area, to the mirror in the bathroom which said, "You look really pretty", so sweet!
I headed upstairs to photograph the groom & groomsmen getting ready, and moved right into their formal portraits. Lauren warned me that the groomsmen are silly, and she wasn't kidding. These guys took having a sense of humor to a whole new level. They win the award for being the biggest riot I've ever worked with. I couldn't stop laughing at their posing ideas and their "prom pose" is a total classic! (Lauren - You're going to crack up when you see your gallery.)
After photographing the guys, I headed back inside to document the girls getting ready. The bridesmaids were so gorgeous, sweet, and welcoming! Lauren looked like a total princess and she even did her own hair and makeup. Once again, the details were amazing, from the girls' robes, to the floral Betsey Johnson shoes. Love!
The ceremony was short, sweet, and romantic. The love of God was very present throughout their entire day. 1 Corinthians 13 was written down the aisle and a peony adorned cross was displayed at the alter. As Lauren made her walk towards Sam, she had the biggest smile. They are simply adorable together and were smiling at each other all. night. long. <3
