Wasilla Engagement Session // Lauren + Sam

As a photographer, there are some sessions that I know I’ll remember 30 years down the road. Sam and Lauren’s session tops the list for sure! I’ve never laughed so much during a shoot. These two and adorable and have such a great sense of humor. They really do complement each other perfectly and they are both so easy-going and fun! Their shoot was definitely an adventure.

Lauren and Sam met in seriously the coolest and most random way. Lauren’s cat went missing and wound up in Sam’s yard. It definitely worked out well because not only did Lauren get reunited with her cat, but she ended up meeting her future husband!

For their engagement session, Sam had a fantastic idea to head down to a dock at Lake Lucille in Wasilla. We had great timing because not only was the weather perfect, but it was really fortunate that we arrived at such a gorgeous location while no one else was there.
Lauren also had an amazing idea to do a romantic bonfire. After we finished up at the dock, we headed to Sam’s brother’s house for some marshmallow roasting with Lauren and Sam’s adorable labs. This is where the adventure really began!

Sam lit the bonfire, and the next thing I saw was a flaming gas can. I'm not sure what happened, but we had to run away from the fire and brace ourselves for a possible explosion. It was dangerous situation, but they both handled it so well! While Sam put out the fire, Lauren and I talked about how I know to expect the possibility of flaming centerpieces at their wedding. ;)

Lauren and Sam – Thank you so much for choosing me to document such an incredible time in your lives. I can't wait for your big day! :)
